Pregame Motivation Week #5

God is good. No matter my current situation, I know in a few months, I'll be further than I am now.  I have nobody to thank but the man upstairs. Faith over everything!

Week 5.  “Why not me?” Seahawks Qb Russell Wilson asked before Super Bowl XLVIII. So, why not you? If you're at the top, stay at the top.  If you're not, you have some people to impress.  Why not this game?  Why not make this the game where you are the star of the show?  Have your picture on the front page of the newspaper. We all see it on Saturday mornings. We all wake up and go look at the same News and Record article.  We all turn to the sports section and see who got front paged this week.  Have you ever pictured that as you? Have you?  No really, I have a point here, have you ever decided that picture was going to be of you? There's a section of each paper that talks about the "stars" from each game.  Will that be you? I promise you it's only a decision.  Make it up in your mind that regardless of what happens out there on Friday, you will get off.

I get fueled up with so much energy when I write this because I can't go out there and ball on Saturdays because of my broken collarbone.  If you need some motivation, do it for me.  Do it just because I said I wanted to see you in the newspaper.  And when you ballout, hit me up and tell me that you did it for me. I'm going to check the paper Saturday morning. I know who balls out from week to week. Make this your time.  Be selfish in this decision to go get yours Friday.

One more thing: imagine your parents waking up on Saturday morning and reading the paper to see you on the front page.  Fellas, I'm giving you this word of advice because I never envisioned myself being on the front page back in high school.  I always wanted to do good, better than everyone else, but I just kinda wanted it.  So rather than a goal, it slowly turned into a wish as my senior season went by.  It never happened because I didn't believe that I could be on the front page.  I didn't make it a mission to see that I accomplished it. Take some time just to think about it.

I'm done, I could go all day on this.  Just think of it. Envision yourself making the plays you need to make to standout on Friday.  See yourself doing it.

I love you all, and I'll be watching and praying for you all Friday night. I will be at the Southern Guilford vs Smith game for my spotlight special.

Stay prayed up!
