Pregame Motivation Week #8

I want to thank God for giving me the chance to speak to you. Guide you. Shed light and spread my ambitions as you attempt to control this recruiting process.

We're approaching the second half of the season. A few words for you: don't settle.

How many plays of football will you get tomorrow? The opportunities are endless. Starters usually average 60 - 80 per game. In college, our coaches expect us to go 100% on each of those plays. I understand that high school is a little less demanding, I get it. Your coaches and teammates let you slack off. There's definitely a difference between college and high school.

I've been to 7 high school games this season. You guys are only playing about half of those plays all out, going balls to the walls. I know your coaches and teammates don't expect as much out of you, but really, how can you say you are fighting for a shot at a scholarship if you're not taking advantage of every opportunity you're getting?

I'll leave you with that, but can you really say you want a scholarship as bad as you want to breathe? You can always step it up. Always. Flirt with the thought of knowing this season will come to an end.

It's tough trying to tap into your mental. I don't know if y’all understand how important these plays are. In reality, the film you put together is EVERYTHING in your recruiting campaign. Janesh can't do anything more for you if you don't have the credentials to compete at that school. Coaches want to turn on that film and know, "Can he play on my team?" Plain and simple. You have around 60 plays per game to prove that. Don't settle for the expectations that your team gives you. With those expectations, your efforts won't be enough. Make yourself accountable. Take control.
