The Work I Do For Local College Coaches (Elon, A&T, UNCC, Wake Forest, Guilford College)

Without the Lord, none of this would be possible.  I pray that I can continue to be the blessing that God intends for me to be.  The work I do completes me and I pray I continue to develop more in the years to come.

This blog is to give a little information about myself and what I do for the college coaches on the next level. I act as a resource of recruiting knowledge for the Triad, slowly expanding into Charlotte and the Raleigh-Durham area.  I have earned the respect and trust from colleges like Elon, Wake Forest, A&T, Winston Salem State, Greensboro College, and of course Guilford College.   I report what I know to them about athletes that can potentially play at their level.  I am a personal, tangible rivals.com.  I like to keep up with the local talent in the area so that I begin to learn the styles of play of the kids I keep up with and learn their strengths and weaknesses.

When I report, the things I am talking about in these conversations are:

Overall Ability:  Can this kid compete for a starting role at that college?

Physical Make Up:  Can this kid manage to compete an entire season?

Domination:  Does the kid stand out from his high school peers? In other words, would the coach notice you if he were to visit a game to recruit another athlete?

Intangibles: Does the kid show effort when he plays? What do they do when the ball is away from them? Can they complete a full game?

Character:  This has been a little tougher for me because it's hard to get to know all of the kids I report about personally.  Character is defined as being a genuine great person. Someone that does the right things.  Will this kid give a college coach problems if he was on their campus?

I am honest in these reports.  I wish I had more information to base my judgments on but I have limited ways of getting information. I mostly gain a good understanding about kids that come through my programs and services (Training, SAT Prep, Tutoring Classes, College Tours). I have a chance to find out a little beneath the surface of just football, (Work ethic, attitude, commitment levels). The way I gain the rest of my information is visiting Friday night games.  Odds are, if you have a great game, you will be in my report the next time I speak with a coach.  I have a time when I speak with the player after the game to interview him and find out a few things about them, but I use this information sparingly. With this interview, I more so want to just get a feel of who the kid is and what type of character they have.  I also grab bits and pieces of information from respective high school coaches.

This aspect of my work is the final step in the process of what I do.  I bring kids around me in the hopes to give positive reports about them to my college coaches. This is why I work so hard.  This is why I am so hard on the athletes and parents connected to me.  I know what colleges are looking for. I have assumed responsibility for preparing athletes to play on the collegiate level.  I feel that I am the driving force to insure that these things happen.  If I am ever being hard on you and your approach to the recruiting process, it's because I feel it's my job to prepare you weather you're ready for what it takes or not.  Just like a parent to their child, I know the end goal; it's my job to get you there.

This is just a little about the background about the dirty work I do. So make sure you speak next time you see me at a game.  Who knows where it'll take you?
